Valentine's Day Activities!

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I have been creating and doing all things love/heart themed with my boys!

Here are some activities we have tried out that you can do before or on Valentine's Day with your littles.

  1. Sensory Bin!

  • Holidays are such a fun time to do sensory bins. I love hitting up the dollar store to find all the themed goodies! And of course, for a great price.

  • We found some little, glitter styrofoam hearts, heart popcorn containers, conversation hearts, and red cupcake liners. We had a couple things at home we also used!

  • As our base we dyed some rice RED! It's super easy. Grab a ziploc baggy, throw in some rice, a tablespoon or two of distilled vinegar, and food coloring! Then, lay out for a handful of hours to dry before using.

2. Red and White Noodle Necklace

  • To dye noodles - put in ziploc baggy, a couple drops of hand sanitizer, and acrylic paint color of choice. Again, wait a few hours!

  • Grab some string and do a fun fine motor activity!

3. I Love You To Pieces Craft

  • I created this heart printable, but if you don't have access to a printer, you can just draw a heart on paper!

  • Grab some colored construction paper, tear it up, and have your little glue the pieces onto the heart!

4. Conversation Heart Counting

  • For this activity, I used the cute little conversation heart candies. However, be aware that your littles may be totally sidetracked and just want to EAT! It took some serious patience for my son to wait to eat his candy!

  • Print off this activity and count the number of hearts on to each heart!

5. Red and Pink Heart Color Sort

  • Here is a good activity for some of your littler ones!

  • Grab some colored construction paper and cut out some hearts in the same colors. We had some red and pink felt hearts from the dollar store that we used!

6. Foam Heart Sticker Craft

  • Adorable for all ages and again super simple. We found some foam hearts and felt stickers at the dollar store to do this cute little craft.

  • If you don't have these supplies or can't find them at your local dollar store. Use any valentine stickers with construction paper hearts!

7. Heart Number Match

  • Here is cute Valentine's themed number recognition and fine motor activities for your older littles. My almost 3 year old loves doing sticker matching activities, so why not make a heart one!

  • Use the one I created or make your own! Grab some small dot stickers. Write the numbers 1-15 on them. Have your little match and stick away!

8. Valentine's Day Dot Marker Activity

  • Print and grab your favorite dot markers for this one!
