Pattern Cards

Patterns are an important skill that our littles will learn as they grow. It is also a very crucial skill used in math. Whether it is colors, letters, shapes, numbers, or pictures there are patterns all around us. A simple definition for our littles is that a pattern is simply something that repeats itself.

There are many ways for our littles to practice patterns. Books and songs are two great ways to dive into the pattern world.

This website below has some amazing books to read to your children that include patterns.

I created some pattern cards for you and your littles to do at home!

There are two different types - one with squares and one with circles. For the squares, we used linking cubes and some square manipulative we have. For the circles, we used some little Pom Poms. You could also use buttons or simply just cut out some construction paper.

On one of the sheets, I left a blank for your little to use some critical thinking skills to try and figure out which color comes next.

I printed and laminated my cards, so they can be reused!!
