Magnetic Letter Activity

If you have magnetic letters, here is a super quick and easy activity you can do at home with your littles. If you don't have magnetic letters, go get some! :)

We use our magnetic letters ALL the time! They are so versatile, whether they are using them on the fridge, playing with them in rice or sand, or doing letter work activities at the table. They are a great tool to use to help your toddlers learn their letters.

This activity is something you can set up super quickly! It is a great way to work on letter recognition with your little ones.

I typically do a sensory activity of some sort with my boys in the afternoon, and so I threw these letters in with some rice.

To set up and play:

  • Give your little a bin with rice and magnetic letters (you can leave out the rice!)

  • Add a scoop or tongs

  • Write out the alphabet on a piece of construction paper and tape it to fridge or dishwasher (if your letters aren't magnets, just do at the table!)

  • Have your little match the magnetic letter with the letter written on the construction paper!

To mix it up, write out lowercase letters and have them match lowercase to uppercase.
