Scrabble tiles are such a great manipulative to use for toddlers, and I bet most of you have some hanging around your house! There are tons of different uses you could use with these little tiles. You could do letter to paper match (which is what we are going to do today!), letter to letter match (depending on the tile ;), practice spelling names or different words, work on letter sounds, or simply just throw them into a sensory bin for some play time!
My 3 year old is all about the mystery of grabbing into a bag, so I quickly made up a document with all the letters in the alphabet. Pick through the scrabble tiles so you only have one of each letter!
We will simply grab a tile from the bag
Identify the letter name and sound
Find its match on the paper!
Don't feel like you have to get through the whole alphabet! Our little ones might not have the attention spam to fill out the whole paper. You may have to come back later :)
For my younger son, I put the tiles spelling out his name into a sensory bin with beans and gave him some tongs! He will work on identifying and matching the letters in his name!
Here is the document we used!
If you don't have the game scrabble, you can definitely use other letters you have at home OR purchase the game OR just the tiles!
Here are some Amazon links to make it easier for you :)
