Dot the Numbers (10-15)

Number recognition is an important skill to teach your little ones as they begin to prep for kindergarten and their early education years. Toddlers and preschoolers, through practice and play will begin to learn their numbers. Your three year olds are probably starting to get pretty good at counting or at least beginning to get the hang of it!

There are many ways to practice counting and number recognition with your little ones. Some of my favorites are continued counting when brushing teeth or throughout daily activities, number puzzles, books, and hands-on activities that involve counting orally matched with cardinality (1, 2, 3, - here are 3 objects).

These activities have really helped my 3 year old learn his numbers 1-10. However, we are now beginning to work on number recognition from 10-15! Knowing the numbers 0-9 and then starting to work on teen numbers can be a bit confusing!

Here is a dot marker activity I created to do some number recognition practice with my 3 year old! It takes a lot of practice, modeling, and working together for your little ones to learn new things, including numbers.
