Animal Match-Up!

Today, I was able to sit down with my 1.5 year old and do an activity with just him! One on one time with my boys is so special to me, and it is something that is so rare to come by these days!

For our activity, we worked on some matching with animals. Forever ago I found some little animal flashcards at the dollar store. I decided to pull out the flashcards and some toy animals we had at the house that matched the flashcards. For instance, a toy pig and a pig flashcard. To modify if you don't have animal cards, print off pictures of animals OR grab two animals that are the same!

To do this activity:

1. Set out some flashcards on the table/floor
2. Put the matching animals in a basket
3. Have your little grab one animal at a time
4. Match the toy with the card!
REPEAT

While doing the matching, you can talk about the animal, the noises they make, where the live, etc.! If they are having a hard time with this activity, you can have your little grab the animal and you can assist them with matching. They will eventually get the hang of it with some practice :)
