8 Simple Sensory Activities

Sensory activities are such a great option to do with your littles daily. Not only are they an amazing time filler, but they also stimulate the brain and allow your little to have fun, be creative, and explore. Fine motor skills and problem solving skills are also being used The benefits are endless.

Here are 8 sensory activities that I rotate through, if I have nothing else planned! If you get your littles started, they will have a blast exploring and you will able to accomplish some of the endless tasks and chores that us parents have!

1. Rice and kitchen utensils

measuring spoons/cups, funnels, and mason jars are our favorites

2. Colorful cereal, tongs, and magnetic letters or fruit loops with pipe cleaners!

a fun and different way to explore letters and practice fine motor skills with tongs

3. Water beads with colorful cups or muffin liners to sort

water beads are so fun (but definitely watch closely with these, so they don't try to put them in their mouths!)

4. Play dough with stamps, cookie cutters, or linking cubes

grab some cookie sheets, spatulas and pretend like you're doing some baking!

5. Shaving cream

a fun exploration activity in itself, but feel free to add winter animals or muffin pans to make cupcakes

6. Kinetic sand and small animals

a favorite at our house!!

7. Water with bubbles and bath/water toys

what little kid doesn't love playing in water! :)

8. Dry beans with trucks and scoops

pretend the beans are mud or gravel

Here are some helpful tools, so you always have these activities on hand!
